Texas og Arizona

Texas er en lang stat, og enda lenger ble det siden vi skulle komme oss opp til Grand Canyon i Arizona. Vi satt 12 timer i bilen to dager på rad, landskapet var eksotisk med milevis med åkrer, kaktuser, oljebrønner og rød sand. Dag tre kjørte vi innover i fjellet gjennom en skog med kaktuser opp til en Ranch ikke langt fra Grand Canyon. Vi var ekte cowboyer for en dag med cowboyhatter, gunfighting og lassokasting. Helikopterturen ned i Grand Canyon var et høyedpunkt da vi fikk fly helikopter i 20 minutter (mye mer enn de 7 minuttene vi hadde i helikopter over Manhattan i fjor). Karl og jeg har bastemt oss for at helikoptertur i september allerede er blitt en tradisjon.
Neste oppdatering kommer fra Nevada med blant annet Hover Dam og Las Vegas. Stay tuned.
