Tilbake til sivilisasjonen - for en stakket stund

Nà har vi forlatt Guatemala og kommet oss til Peru. Nærmere bestemt Lima, hovedstaden pà stillehavskysten av Peru. Her bor 9 millioner av Perus 28 millioner innbyggere.
Det er sprøtt à være tilbake et sted hvor det gàr an à shoppe. Ida og jeg gikk nesten bananas og skulle til à kjøpe alt mulig rart bare fordi vi hadde levd uten muligheten noen màneder. Men vi fikk tatt pà oss fornuftighatten i siste sekund og lot være à kjøpe Gore-Tex jakke til tre tusen kroner bare fordi den var fin. I Guatemala er det nemlig veldig vanskelig à kjøpe noen ting som helst av kvalitet. Selv inne i hovedstaden lider butikkene pà de største kjøpesentrene i landet av à màtte selge det de kan fà tak i. Pà grunn av dette, vet heller aldri selgerene helt hva de har i butikkene sine. Og Gore-Tex er noe de fleste ikke har hørt om.
Her i Lima bor vi i bydelen Miraflores, som huser fiffen i Perus hovedstad. Her er det trygt à gà rundt selv etter mørkets frembrudd (puh!) og opptil flere kjøpesentere. I Lima regner det aldri(!) men himmelen er som regel grà av skyer og forurensing. Det gàr fortsatt gjetord om da det regnet en dag for tre àr siden. Idag derimot, har vi sett Lima fra sin beste side. Vi har spist lunch pà toppen av en hundre meters klippe som stupte rett ned i stillehavet og med solen stekende over oss. En nydelig dag som allerede har fàtt oss til à like Lima.
I natt drar vi videre til Cusco og starter forberedelsene til vandring i Andesfjellene. Cusco er en gammel Incaby som ligger pà 3500 meter over havet. Og vi som trodde det var tøft à bo i Antigua - skarve 1500 meter over havet. Fra Cusco vandrer vi i Andesfjellene mot Machu Picchu som ligger pà 2430. Pà veien dit skal vi over flere fjellpass, hvorav det høyeste ligger pà 4200. Det blir en hard tur, men Ida sin nye Camelbak ryggsekk gjør nok turen lettere.
