Vi har fått oss leilighet! Den ligger i 21. etg. i en skyskraper midt i hjertet av Brisbane i fem minutter gangavstand fra Gardens Point som er campuset til Karl og Preben. Det vil si at den også er fem minutter til shuttlebussen som går mellom Gardens Point og Kelvin Grove som er mitt campus. Det er deilig å vite at vi har et sted å bo sånn at vi kommer helt i orden til studiet starter. Bygget har svømmebasseng (jeg tror dessverre ikke det er jaccuzzi), gym, felles barbequer og kino. Vi skal bo sammen alle tre og i leiligheten har vi tre rom, to bad og to balkonger der vi kan se Botanical garden fra den ene hvis vi legger godviljen til. Er ganske fornøyde med prisen i et boligmarked som er blåst ut av proposjoner etter at 1 mill mennesker har flyttet inn til Brisbane de siste 5 årene.
Ser at været ikke her helt til å stole på i Norge med vår allerede i februar, forsto det sånn at Hanne Mali og Eigil har spilt golf ute i 10 grader og sol. Det er ikke til å stole på her heller for nå har det regnet mer på fem dager enn det har gjort de siste fem årene (i hvert fall i følge mannen i gata) og ikke er det så varmt som det pleier å være heller. Men skal ikke klage for vi har mellom 20 og 30 grader hele tida. Og at det har regnet litt er bare bra, byen har alvorlige problemer med vannmangel for det skal bare være 30% igjen av vannreservene. Dette har ført til mange reguleringer over bruk av vann, f.eks. er det bare lov til å dusje i 2 minutter, bruke greywater (vann som blir til overs når man f.eks. vasker grønnsaker) til å vanne planter, vaske klær en gang i uka og det venter safitge bøter på husstander som bruker mer enn 140 liter vann i døgnet pr. pers. Vet ikke om det kommer til å bli vanskelig eller ikke, for enda har vi ingen formening om hvor mye vann vi bruker om dagen.

Hei, gratulerer med leilighet. Dette høres flott ut. Er dette møblert, eller må dere ut på byen for å finne noe å sitte på, spise av eller ligge i. I alle fall er det godt at dere er kommet såpass i orden. Regner med at det dukker opp et bilde eller fler ganske snart. Vi snakkes.

Høres fint ut med leilighet med diverse fasiliteter. Må da prøve å fåå tatt meg en tur, men ufattelig dyrt med flybillett da ??

Vintern kommer tilbake til Norge, ingen fare. Fremdeles mye appelsin, kvikklunsj og klister som skal spises…

Gratulerer med leilighet - så flott at dere har landet i egen leilighet før studiene begynner! Hører Karl har etablert kontakt med Knut på MSN, bra jobba Karl - gutta er henrykt (og vi er gamle, ja da jeg vet det)!
Leiligheten er ikke møblert og vi flytter inn i morra med det vi kan bære på ryggen, trille i trillekoffert og ellers få plass i den ledige hånda (jada, vi har myyyyyye bagasje). Satser på å stå tidlig opp så vi får hentet nøklene, tatt mål og kjøpt senger og sofa. Det tar nok noen dager før alt er i orden med møbler, kjøleskap, strøm og internett.
Stua er soverom til alle som spinker og sparer seg til en Australia-tur og vi kjøper lett stellebord hvis EA kommer:) Er litt misunnelige på kvikklunsjen og appelsinene, men 25 grader og sol er ikke å forakte det heller.
Så fint dere har fått tak over hodet før studiene tar til. Og så håper vi dere har fått tak i noe å ligge på og sitte i. Våren er kommet til Oslo, idag er det 10 grader!
