Tre Begivenhetsrike Helger

Etter 7 uker med mange mange timer paa bibiblioteket, tusenvis av innleverte ord og første runde med eksamener hadde Karl to uker med ordentlig ferie og jeg hadde to slappe uker der jeg latet som jeg hadde ferie. Dette har ført til at vi til og med har tatt oss fri i helgene! Siste helga i april var vi paa Fraser Island som er verdens største sandøy. Der var vi paa Self-Drive Safari sammen med 22 andre glade ungdommer. Vi saa innsjøer som lignet paa paradis, masse (!) hai, badet i champagne pools, gikk paa tur innover i regnskogen, campet langs stranda og saa en fantastisk stjernehimmel. Vi legger ut bilder som sier mye mer enn beskrivelsene.
Den første helga i mai skulle vi til Byron Bay paa fredag og videre til Nimbin paa lørdag. Helga ble dog ikke helt som planlagt da Saaben stoppe midt i byen rett etter at vi hadde fylt den opp med campingutstyr. Etter et at den hadde stoppet for tredje gang maatte vi bite i det sure eplet og ringe Australias svar paa Falken. Dermed ble det tur med tauebil til verkstedet i stedet for tur til Byron Bay. Vi lot oss i ikke stoppe av den grunn, og bestemte oss for aa leie bil lørdag morgen i stedet. I Byron møtte vi Victoria, ei jente som Karl og jeg ble kjente med i Guatemala, og sammen med gjengen hennes dro vi videre til Nimbin og MardiGrass. Der var det et freakshow uten like med masse unge og gamle hippier som hadde festival for aa feire marihuana og det gode liv.
Neste helg sier vi farvel til campinglivet og setter oss paa flyet til Sydney for aa flotte oss paa luksushotell og se musikalen Chess. Preben er vaart store Chess-fan og gleder seg som et lite barn:)
Jeg sitter paa biblioteket naa (jada, skulle egentlig skrevet oppgave) saa faar ikke lagt ut bilder fra de siste helgene, men i mens kan dere kose dere med bilder fra Sør-Afrika, Singapore og de første ukene i Brisbane som vi har lagt ut paa bildesiden.

Godt å endelig lese noe på bloggen. Høres spennende ut med disse aktivitetene, men vi tenker vel mer på studier og håper på dem. Selvfølgelig ingen kritikk, men det er slik vi er. Bekymrete foreldre. Nedtelling har begynt og vi er ‘bare’ 6 uker unna. Skrekkblandet fryd hører sikkert inn her for den er tydelig for meg (Einar). Flotte bilder, og vil ha fler! Keep cool and take care!

Det aner meg at vi forspiller en unik anledning når vi ikke bestiller billetter for å besøke dere. Vi skylder på at Per, Knut og Anne bidrar til å dra den totale billettprisen til uante høyder - uten dem kan eller vil vi ikke reise jorda rundt. Slik er det bare akkurat nå. Til gjengjeld skal vi være parat når dere kommer tilbake. Når er det forresten? Er det feks. noen sjangs til familie-greier i september?
Etter å ha sett bildene er det selvsagt ekstremt betryggende å se at det er ‘a university for the real world’. Det må man jo klare å få noe nyttig ut av..?!
Hei på dere. Familiegreier i september går dårlig dessverre. Vi kommer nok hjem en gang i desember tenker jeg.
Ja, det er jo en kjempesjanse å komme og besøke noen “locals” i Australia, men vi skjønner at det kan bli mye som skal klaffe for at folk kommer på besøk - både praktisk med ferie og økonomisk.
Dette med at det er et “university for the real world” er jo en hype. Men de streber etter å få inn undervisninger fra folk “in the business” nå og da. Og vi får jo noe ut av detta. Har i hvert fall ikke strøket i de fire første fagene som er gjort unna.
