At turen til India ikke ble noe av var nedtur, men jeg fikk desto mer tid paa New Zealand. Preben, Ida og jeg har leid en bobil sammen med Magni og Heidur fra Island. Vi er altsaa paa campingtur rundt paa New Zealand og saa langt foeles det egentlig mest som aa vaere hjemme i Norge. Klimaet er likt og naturen er veldig lik. Jeg mener naturen er hakket mer spektakulaert her men Ida minner meg paa at vi egentlig ikke har sett saa mye av Norsk natur. Og det maa jeg jo vaere enig i. Uansett saa er naturen her fantastisk og vi skjoenner hvorfor Ringenes Herre filmene ble spilt inn her.
Vi har ingen plan. Vi har en bobil og kan kjoere hvor vi vil og spise naar vi vil osv. Det foerte idag til at vi kjoerte forbi en bro og bestemte oss for aa snu for en naermere kikk paa broen. Det foerte igjen til at vi hoppet av broen med hodet foerst ned i elva over 40 meter nede i dalen. Med strikk rundt beina. Preben var kjekkas siden han hadde gjort det foer og fant sporenstreks fram $165 og Magni og Preben hoppet som om de ikke hadde gjort annet i livet. Nydelige svalestup. Ida og jeg hadde mer nerver og vegret oss langt og lenge foer vi bestemte oss for aa hoppe tandem. Vi innroemmer at det ikke var verdt $165 men det var absolutt verdt aa hoppe. Og spesielt moro var det ogsaa at broen vi hoppet fra var broen der kommersiell strikkhopping startet i 1980.
Vi blir i New Zealand fram til 5. desember og kan derfor ikke bli kontaktet paa telefon men sjekker kanskje e-post en gang iblant naar vi er innom byer. Planene for resten av turen er taakete men vi har vinsmaking og rafting i tankene.
